The Chrome extension
Browser Control is an Agent-only feature. The hosted agent can use agent-owned browser tabs in its environment; the Magister Chrome extension additionally lets it work with a user tab you explicitly attach. Machine-free Connect brands use supported integration or MCP browser tools instead of this panel.
Installing — go to the extension page in Magister. Click Install from Chrome Web Store. The store page opens in a new tab; click Add to Chrome there.
Auto-connect — the first time you open a Magister tab after installing, the extension reads a short-lived auth token from the page and signs itself in automatically. You don't need to log in again. If auto-connect ever fails, the extension page has a Reconnect button.
Brand switcher — click the Magister icon in the Chrome toolbar. A small popup shows every brand you have access to and which one is currently active. Switching brands in the popup changes which brand any browser action gets attributed to.
Attaching a tab — once connected, choose Attach Tab in Browser Control or ask the agent to look at the page you have open. Attachment is explicit and visible. Detach from the panel or extension popup when the agent should no longer use that tab.
Multiple Chrome profiles — each Chrome profile needs to install the extension separately. Profiles are isolated by design.
