How credits work

What is a credit?
A credit is the unit of AI work in Magister — exactly $0.01 of measured usage. The free trial has a one-time allowance; each paid plan has a monthly pool. Connect spends it on metered tools requested from your external assistant; Agent spends it on hosted model and tool usage. No per-token math in the dashboard.
How many credits does each plan include?
Free trial: 300 credits to get started (one-time). Connect: 5,000 credits every month. Agent: 10,000 credits every month. Both paid plans include 5 team seats. Each additional seat adds 1,250 credits/mo, and each additional brand adds 1,250 (Connect) or 5,000 (Agent) credits/mo.
What do things cost in credits?
A complete request includes agent reasoning and any tools it uses. Typical usage is:

These are typical ranges, not fixed fees. Actual usage varies with task complexity and conversation length. Full audits and plan builds started from the dashboard are included and do not consume Connect tool credits.

How many credits will I actually use?
It depends mostly on how much you chat with your agent, but here are some rough monthly ballparks:
  • Getting started — A couple of audits, some social posts, light agent chat.~1,000–3,000/mo
  • An active brand — Regular social + content, a monthly plan refresh, ongoing chat & research.~5,000–15,000/mo
  • A busy agency — Several brands, weekly audits + AI-visibility tracking, influencer campaigns, heavy publishing.~20,000–50,000/mo

These are estimates, not limits. Heavier use can consume the included monthly pool. If an owner enables overages, usage past it is billed at $0.02 per credit, up to the additional-credit allowance they set. The allowance is not prepaid; only credits actually used are billed.

What happens if I run out?
With overages off, metered Connect tools pause. Agent text continues on GPT-5.6 Luna, while paid image, voice, video, and screenshot tools pause. We show a billing-settings link in the connected assistant or chat. An owner or admin can enable overages at $0.02 per credit and optionally set an additional-credit allowance. Enabling it starts a separate meter at 0; usage recorded while overages were off does not consume the new allowance.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes — unused credits roll into the next month, up to one month's base allowance.
