Benchmark your pricing against competitors and recommend tier and positioning improvements.
A real workflow from the Magister template catalog — the same steps a dedicated agent executes for your brand, shown in full before you run anything.
Search for the pricing pages of the top 5–7 competitors in the product name market targeting target market. For each competitor document: price points per tier, what is included at each tier, the names used for tiers, whether they use monthly/annual toggle, and any discounting or free tier strategy. Note which competitors anchor on high prices and which lead with freemium.
Evaluate whether current pricing uses the right value metric — the unit by which customers are charged (seats, usage, outcomes, features). Assess if the value metric scales naturally with customer success: do bigger customers pay more as a result of getting more value? Identify if there is a mismatch between what customers value most and what they are being charged for.
Evaluate current pricing through the lens of pricing psychology. Check for: anchoring (is there a high-price tier that makes others look affordable?), decoy pricing (is there a middle tier designed to push buyers to the preferred tier?), charm pricing (do prices end in 9 or 7?), annual discount framing (is the saving made salient?), and feature gating (are the right features withheld to drive upgrades from target market?).
Produce a concrete recommendation: (1) Proposed tier structure — tier names, price points, and included features for 2–4 tiers. Explain the logic for each threshold. (2) Anchoring strategy — which tier should be highlighted as 'Most Popular' and why. (3) Pricing page copy changes — rewrite the tier names, feature list copy, and CTA labels to be more benefit-driven and conversion-optimised for target market. (4) One quick win pricing test to run immediately.
Consolidate the completed work into one complete markdown report and record the durable finding with the native magister_submit_workflow_completion tool. The report file must contain the full report content — never a placeholder.
Magister workflows draft and prepare autonomously, but anything externally visible — publishing a page, sending an email, changing a campaign — waits for your approval. You can run this template once, or schedule it and review the results as they land.
