Write a cancellation flow, save offers, and win-back sequence for at-risk users.
A real workflow from the Magister template catalog — the same steps a dedicated agent executes for your brand, shown in full before you run anything.
Define the precise behavioural signals that identify at risk segment as at risk of churning from product name. Examples: no login in 14+ days, dropped below a usage threshold, cancelled a scheduled action, downgraded plan, or reached the trial end without converting. For each signal, specify the trigger condition and the urgency level (high / medium / low). This segment definition will gate which users enter the campaign.
Write the cancellation experience for product name: (1) Exit survey — 5 cancellation reason options with one open text field (keep it under 30 seconds to complete). (2) Save offer screen — displayed after the reason is selected, show a relevant retention offer (e.g. pause, discount, feature unlock). Write 3 different save offer variants matched to the most common cancellation reasons. (3) Confirmation message — if they proceed, send them off graciously and invite them back.
Write a 3-email win-back sequence for at risk segment who have already churned or are highly at risk. Email 1 (Day 1 after churn signal): personalised re-engagement with a specific feature or value reminder. Email 2 (Day 7): share a new feature or improvement they missed, reframe the value of product name. Email 3 (Day 21): final offer — time-limited discount or extended trial — with a clear expiry to create urgency. Each email under 150 words.
Write in-app modal or banner copy for two scenarios: (1) Pause offer — shown to at risk segment before they reach the cancellation screen; copy should be empathetic, offer a 30-day pause, and require only one click. (2) Downgrade offer — shown when a user indicates cost as the reason; present the lower tier as a bridge option, highlight what they keep, and minimise what they lose. Keep each message under 50 words with a clear CTA.
Magister workflows draft and prepare autonomously, but anything externally visible — publishing a page, sending an email, changing a campaign — waits for your approval. You can run this template once, or schedule it and review the results as they land.
